New York scenesters Dirty Haze return to the fray with a quality vocal slow burner.

New York scenesters Dirty Haze made their debut on Tirk last year with the warmly received three tracker "Beat To Def EP", now they return to the fray with a quality vocal slow burner.
Ilya Santana, our favourite Canary Islands producer of all time, supplies the lead mix, strapping the song on to a chunky, Prelude inflected slo-mo groove built to withstand Economic blues via pure disco salvation, five minutes forty nine of funk fried glory. We like it, as you may have guessed.
Dirty Haze's own "Play It Loud Vocal Mix" goes downtown NY 1981 for inspiration, with live bass, electro synths and new wave attitude underpinning the song. Lastsly, the package is rounded off with Smazey Funk, a fast, percussive, space-funk workout that meanders around agreeably with whooshy synths, wah wahing guitars, deep pads and skittering percussion.... Like Herbie Hancock in a hurry to get nowhere in particular, and having a good time as he does so. Nice stuff that hints towards interesting things to come from the NY boys.
